About Judith

I am a Mexican immigrant who moved to Atlanta in 1999; since then, I have been involved in the media industry and am committed to helping the Latino community evolve, especially the women of this thriving community.

Delivering #IAmRemarkable to Latinas in Spanish in Georgia and México has helped me break cultural barriers that prevented them from acknowledging their accomplishments with pride and no shame.

I have seen participants of this workshop, especially women, rise, open their businesses, take on leadership positions, believe in themselves, and, most importantly, accept how remarkable they and their families are.

#IAmRemarkable has helped me fulfil my mission of empowering people to believe in themselves. It has been a life-changing experience for myself, my family, and my extended family. In a family session I facilitated, I witnessed my elderly parents say how remarkable they are and set an example for the new generations, and to me, that alone was Remarkable!

What does it mean to you to be a finalist for this award?

It is a testament that remarkable things are possible when you work hard for them; it is also a joy as this year I celebrate my 25th career anniversary in the United States, and being on the finalist list for doing what I love is remarkable!

'I have witnessed first hand how this workshop has impacted the lives of so many participants, I have witnessed how they stand up and say it our loud “Soy Extraordinaria” - "I am Remarkable"- with tears of joy and pride!'

Tell us a bit more about how you’re making an impact through #IAmRemarkable workshops.

I ran a session for my entire family. One of my youngest nephews cried when it was his turn to speak. I told him he did not have to, but he insisted.

He said he was remarkable because he cared for his little sisters even when he did not feel like it and preferred playing instead of babysitting. He said it was an act of love, and that made him Remarkable. After that experience, he became more outspoken, and even in school, his teachers noticed he was more involved. That year, he led a tree planting campaign at school.

During a workshop for women in the construction industry in Atlanta, a lady from Venezuela shared her frustration about not being able to find a construction-related job in Atlanta despite being an engineer in her country. That day, she made herself a promise and started job searching. One of the workshop participants was impressed with her determination, and it helped her find her dream job!

In one workshop, a single immigrant mother who escaped violence in Colombia and faced hardship shared how she started a new life in the United States and became a Remarkable entrepreneur. As a workshop participant, I have also learned the power of believing in myself, in my abilities to excel and after seeing and hearing so many ladies being empowered, I also became a public speaker in my job, #IAmRemarkable helped me to break my own barriers.’
