Fatima-Zahrae is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion, a journey that started in 2014 with local community work and has grown through the #IAmRemarkable movement since 2020. Her personal experiences with exclusion and bullying have driven her to create environments where everyone’s voice is valued. With over 10 years of experience in human resources, she focuses on building workplaces that inspire and bring people from different cultures together, helping them grow and connect. Her passion for travel and exploring different cultural heritage enhances her understanding of varied perspectives.

What does it mean to you to be a finalist for this award?

Being a finalist for the People's Award 2024 with the #IAmRemarkable movement means a lot to me, it has a dear significance as it recognizes my dedication during many years to advocating for diversity and inclusion in all aspects, showing that everyone's story matters. This recognition is inspiring me to continue the journey both as a volunteer and as an HR Manager highlighting the collective strength we gain from being an inclusive employer. I hope to inspire others to share their voices and stories and create positive change in our communities. 

Tell us a bit more about how you’re making an impact through #IAmRemarkable workshops.

I facilitated a workshop for a group of university female students on the occasion of Women's History Month 2024, who never had a chance to understand that self-promotion is a skill. During the workshop and while sharing examples close to their environment, they started to open up and learn about and from each other which creates a wonderful sharing energy in total confidence. This moment was magical as it was also mixed with an inspiring talk where the CHRO of our organization shared the importance of D&I in our company, our objectives, and the rigorous action plan we are following. This moment was a learning for the students both about self-promotion skills and also a networking session.
